Our guide was Will and he was AWESOME!! He was knowledgeable, personable and just had a great energy!! Most importantly he had a great sense of humor. The tour commenced about 10 minutes after the noted start time of 2:30pm. Another group of 2 arrived shortly after. We paid the entry fee that totals $160.50 with taxes and signed a waiver form. Upon our return we were the only patrons. He suggested that we go grab a bite to eat and return around 2:15pm. He also asked a staff to escort us to the restroom that was located on the property. He was very personable and chatted with us about the business. I was advised that we could sign up for the 2:30 pm tour and that we needed to arrive by 2:15pm to complete paper work and pay the fee. I called the Monkey Jungle on Wednesday morning during our drive from Palm Beach to Miami. When I tell you that this stop was the highlight of my day trip to Miami!! I am so glad that I stumbled upon it while searching for things to do in the city. It's unfortunate that such a once-prominent park has declined so much, and it's not worth your time and money unless you have a strong desire to support the animal care efforts. If you decide to visit, it should be with the intention of supporting the efforts of the staff to care for the animals, rather than expecting a wow factor or a fully enjoyable experience. Some exhibits were under construction, including the absence of a killer whale show. The facilities were not well maintained, including very dirty restrooms despite the park just opening. I understand why there are numerous negative reviews, as my firsthand experience aligns with them. The small tanks filled with filthy water are not acceptable. They deserve better lives after being forced to perform unnatural tricks for so many years. The treatment of the animals is also a concern. Even though the staff does their best to keep things clean, the organization as a whole seems to be letting things go to ruin. It's a far cry from what it used to be in the past. The park itself is in serious disrepair, with broken attractions, empty aquariums, and blocked playground access. The staff, however, deserve praise for their dedication and positive attitude despite the sad state of the environment. The ownership and management of the park have clearly deteriorated over time. My visit to the seaquarium was quite disappointing.
